Theresa is a community organizer with decades of experience in facilitation, community engagement, and campaign management. She understands that community organizing is something we build and create; it does not just magically happen. She relies on storytelling and relationship building as a means of transformation. As a child of the Chicanx Movement, Theresa’s passion for power building is rooted in the long legacy of her family’s involvement in civil rights. Her deep connection to this community where she was born and raised and where generations of her ancestors called home has guided her to engage in disciplined, strategic practices to build the collective power she and her community need to thrive. When she’s not fist-pumping for a local cause or organizing state-wide campaigns, Theresa can be found beating all her niblings at Connect 4 or working on her Wordle streak.
