Under Construction
Sitting in traffic again on South Broadway, inching through the seemingly-endless construction scene, I was frustrated. However, a few deep breaths later, I reminded myself that this resurfacing project was long overdue.
Course Corrections
My stubbornness is well-known in my family, to the point that I’m told my theme song should be “Hard-Headed Woman.” Sometimes I get so invested in an idea or belief that I have to see it all the way through, even if it is clearly wrong from the start.
Staying Hopeful About Health Reform
I’ve been working on health policy issues for more than 20 years, and from the beginning my efforts were framed around health “reform.” Indeed, neither the problems under discussion nor the thrust of the proposed solutions has changed much over that time period.
The 2013 Legislative Session
Over the course of this week, I’m going to write about each of the three bills we actively supported this year, including the Medicaid expansion (SB 200), dental benefits for adults on Medicaid (SB 242), and removing the three-month waiting period in CHP+ (SB 8).
